Winterguard Staging

Brian can provide staging for winterguard. His background as a musician, colorguard member, choreographer and successful staging designer are assets to this particular service. Bringing this experience to the table allows Brian to support the design staff in a way that maximizes their creativity when choreographing the program. Brian can either create the staging in person, or digitally with follow up support and collaboration. The extent to which Brian is included in the process is left to the discretion of the director and staff, but Brian is certainly able to participate and create at any step and level whether it is selecting music
/concept for the program, designing the set, and/or in season follow-up, etc.

Reach out to Brian to begin these conversations. Price depends upon involvement in the process.

Drill Design

Custom drill design for your show and concepts is the latest in Brian’s repertoire of proposed services. Leveraging many years as a member of design teams and collaborating with visual designers in creating products, Brian brings a strong sensitivity toward overall visual design, and how this can be the vehicle to help your vision become reality. Musical and visual staging that maximizes your overall vision is THE primary focus, to say nothing of setting your members up for success. Musical, effective, achievable drill is the goal…AND YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED!

All drill will be composed digitally, with your organization benefitting from all of the features this approach provides including personalized drill charts, coordinate sheets, and custom animation.

Brian would love to discuss how to support your design goals and associated fees.

Choreography

Brian can provide choreography for your indoor or outdoor colorguard. As is the case with visual design, his background as a musician and colorguard member, in addition to his roles as choreographer for marching bands, winter guards, and drum and bugle corps are assets to this particular service. Brian has experience and a successful track record choreographing all aspects for a program. Bringing this level of experience to the table allows Brian to support programs with an existing designer/team or programs that do not employ the specific position of choreographer. Serving as sole provider of this aspect of the show design or collaborating with other designer/choreographers are options in which Brian can help support a strong program.

Contact Brian to discuss what role you would like him to take on for your program.

Soundtrack Design/Editing

A great visual program needs great audio. Nothing supports this better than creation of a strong soundtrack. Do you want to design a soundtrack concept from scratch? Do you have a great idea that you want to enhance or embellish? Do you know that you have a great idea, but it needs editing? Many years of working with soundtrack creation/editing allows Brian to support you at whatever stage you might be in the process.

Should you need support in this area, Brian would love to discuss details and how he can help.

“Working with Brian Giddens as a mentor and collaborator has greatly widened, and also sharpened, my perspective in this activity. His viewpoint seems to be steeped in beauty and organically creative ideas. I am constantly challenged and also given opportunities to grow and expand when contributing to his projects. At the same time, his insight as a coordinator and designer is infinitely grounding and wise. He asks the questions he’s been answering himself for years, in a very honest and genuine way. His influence has positively shaped my choices in this wide and wonderful world of pageantry.”

Color Guard Co-Caption Head, Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps

When we decided to push our winter guard to the next level, Brian was at the top of the list of designers to stage our show. It’s nice to spend a long camp day in a gym with someone as thoughtful and easy-going as Brian! He is an awesome collaborator and willing to give as much or as little as we need, whether that’s coming into town to stage our show, offering consultation for mid-season tweaks, or discussing future show ideas. He makes himself available to have phone calls or video conference sessions, and he’s even recorded videos talking through new staging or design ideas, which we can watch on our own time. During a hectic season, his flexibility and quick turn-around are invaluable. With his guidance and design, we were the 2015 class champion in our circuit! We are so fortunate for our partnership with Brian and hope to continue to grow together for years to come.
